Julian Koster Experimental / Alternative Julian Koster is a member of the Elephant 6 Collective. He is the leader of American underground band The Music Tapes, and a former member of seminal indie legends Neutral Milk Hotel. He is also believed to have been a founder of the highly secretive Major Organ and the Adding Machine. Koster joined the The Olivia Tremor Control upon their 2005 reformation for a few select shows and appeared on many releases related to the Elephant 6 Collective. The instruments he is usually credited to are the singing saw, the accordion, the wandering genie, the banjo, guitar, mandolin and bass.
